Rental Agreement

Carousel is a gathering space located at 636 South 200 West, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101. The space is available for private rental for events, meetings, classes and workshops, markets, photo shoots, and other creative uses. By booking and using the space, the renter agrees to the following terms and conditions.

Booking and Payment

All rentals must be booked through Carousel’s booking platform and payment system. A reservation is confirmed only once the renter has reviewed and agreed to this Rental Agreement and full payment has been received. Rental time includes setup and breakdown, and renters should plan their booking accordingly.

By completing a booking, the renter authorizes Carousel to charge the payment method used at the time of reservation for any additional fees incurred under this agreement, including but not limited to cleaning fees, damage costs, or charges for unauthorized overtime use of the space. This authorization remains in effect through the conclusion of the rental period and any post-event review period.

Rental Period

Renters may access the space only during the specific time period reserved. Arriving early or remaining in the space beyond the scheduled rental time may interfere with other bookings. If additional time is required and the space is available, it may be added at the standard hourly rate. Unauthorized use outside the booked time may result in additional charges.

Parking

Parking is available directly south of the building. Vehicles parked parallel on the neighboring property will be towed. Carousel is not responsible for any towing, parking violations, vehicle damage, or theft. Additional parking options include street parking east of the building and public parking lots east of the building. Guests should plan accordingly.

Shared Building and Restrooms

Carousel is located in a shared building that includes a coffee shop and restaurant. Restrooms are shared with these businesses, and renters and their guests are expected to use these facilities respectfully and courteously.

Use of Space

Renters may rearrange furniture and use the space for their event, provided that all items are handled with care and returned to their original placement before the end of the rental period. Furniture should never be dragged across floors or surfaces. Decorations must be non-damaging, and nails, screws, or adhesives that damage surfaces are not permitted. Smoking, vaping, and illegal substances are not allowed inside the space. Music is permitted but must be kept at a reasonable volume out of respect for neighboring businesses.

Cleaning and Condition of Space

Renters are responsible for leaving the space in the same condition in which it was found. Before leaving, renters must return furniture to its original placement, remove all trash and personal items, and ensure floors and surfaces are reasonably clean. If the space is not left in the condition in which it was found, a $150 cleaning fee will be charged to the payment method on file. Carousel will notify the renter by email before any post-event charge is made. Any items left behind may be discarded or donated if they are not retrieved within 72 hours.

Damages and Liability

The renter is responsible for any damage caused to the space, furnishings, equipment, or building during their rental period. Carousel will notify the renter if damage is identified. The cost of repair or replacement will be charged to the payment method on file within 5 business days of that notification. Carousel is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items or for injuries that occur during the rental period. Renters assume full responsibility for their guests and vendors during the booking.

Noise and Building Activity

Because Carousel is located in a shared building, background noise may occasionally occur from neighboring businesses or street activity. Carousel cannot guarantee complete sound isolation and does not provide refunds due to noise conditions.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Cancellations made 14 or more days before the scheduled rental date are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made fewer than 14 days before the scheduled rental date are non-refundable. To cancel or reschedule, the renter must notify Carousel in writing via email. The cancellation date is determined by the date Carousel receives written notice. Rescheduling is subject to availability and must be requested at least 14 days in advance of the original booking to avoid forfeiture of the rental fee. Carousel reserves the right to cancel a booking, in which case a full refund will be issued.

Insurance

Renters are solely responsible for determining whether their event requires liability insurance and for obtaining appropriate coverage. Carousel reserves the right to require proof of general liability insurance for any event at its discretion. Carousel assumes no responsibility for losses, claims, or damages arising from a renter’s failure to obtain adequate insurance coverage.

Indemnification

The renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Carousel, the property owner, and any affiliated parties from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from the renter’s use of the space, including the actions of guests, vendors, or participants during the rental period.

By booking Carousel, the renter acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Rental Agreement.
